"Paint On" Graphite
Focal Points "Paint on" Graphite has been designed
to meet the varied needs of industry and homeowners alike.
Graphite; one of natures' lubricants, has always had potential: with
one exception. It's normally supplied in powder form. Anyone
who's tried to lubricate a lock or door hinge know how messy using powdered
graphite can be. Squeezing that flimsy plastic tube only to
deposit a mound of gray powder that did not go where you wanted and never
stays where it's put.
Focal Point is now providing a means to get the graphite where you want
it, in a form that is usable and yields superior results. Our
"Paint on" graphite is a colloid of graphite and
isopropyl alcohol. The graphite has been ground so finely that it resists
settling in the alcohol carrier. This combination enables users to
apply the graphite in liquid form so it "flows" into the
smallest of cracks and crevasses (Each particle is equal to or less than 1
micron in size). Then within a few seconds it dries into a thin
graphite film that stays in place.
Compare this with traditional oils and greases, which squeeze out of
compression fittings, and flow with the forces of gravity. They
also remain wet which makes them dust and dirt magnets.
If you need lubrication at high heat "Paint On" Graphite is
perfect for you. Once dry, P.O.G. is stable to 2,500ºF (750ºF)
