Your Best Investment in Quality Control

Focal Point has developed a simple to use and accurate enlarger alignment tool. Laser Align uses the accuracy of laser technology in an easy-to-use system for aligning vertical or horizontal enlargers, copy cameras, or any other equipment which needs perfect planar alignment

Vertical enlargers align in as little as 5 minutes. All you do is place the Laser Align unit on the base board and a first surface mirror in the negative carrier. Now adjust the negative stage until our laser dot hits the "bull's-eye". Do the same with the lens stage and your enlarger is perfectly aligned in a fraction of the time it takes with old carpenter's level techniques.

Laser Align will lay perfectly straight and level mural enlarger tracks without measuring angles and tangents. After the track is down, align the enlarger with the same technique used in the vertical procedure. Align horizontal enlargers from 5-ft. or 50-ft from the wall with equal ease.

Align copy cameras and slide duplicators for perfect focus and no "Keystoning".

Unlike other alignment systems, there is no para-scope to sight through and no parallax error to worry about. As long as our laser dot hits the "BULL'S-EYE" you know your in perfect alignment.

The alignment procedure is essentially  the same for most enlargers. For specific instructions refer to your owners manual or contact us here at Focal Point.

First, align the lens stage by attaching the lens alignment mirror to your most used lens. Then mount the lens to your enlarger, and place the Laser Align unit on the baseboard. Move it's position until the laser beam strikes the lens mirror and is reflected back to the baseboard.

Now make adjustments to your enlarger until the laser beam "HITS THE BULL'S-EYE", or is reflected back into itself.

Second, mount the negative mirror into your glass negative carrier. No glass carrier? Don't worry, you can still use the Laser Align (refer to instructions).

Remove the lens and install your neg carrier into the enlarger. Now hit the "Bull's-eye" again, and your enlarger is aligned.
